RIP Alexander McQueen

Last night, NYC received a huge snowstorm. The wind whipped the snow up streets and around corners, and through the bodies of those brave souls with the gall to face the weather….it was a rough night….that gave way to some shocking news….

My Twitter timeline was ablaze, full of questions, comments, and well wishes concerning what I would call the next most shocking death next to Michael Jackson himself.

….Alexander McQueen.

Now I would get into a huuuge biography, spanning his illustrious and influential career, from his edgy designs to his involvement in the houses of Gucci and Givenchy, to his Japan-only release of the Puma hi-top….McQueen was one of the designers I dreamt of meeting, when I was finally known and valued enough to grace the tents of Fashion Week. Now I can only walk among the lonely display at Bergdorf Goodman, and remember the good times.

Bravo, Mr. McQueen….Bravo.

To Life (and the celebration of a life fulfilled),
PROTA.
